Olivier Kowald & Rebecca Harris

Olivier Kowald moved to Melbourne in 2004 from Vienna, Austria and currently works as a senior graphic designer for David Lancashire Design. While previously gaining industry experience at Cornwell Design, he won a Pinnacle Award at the AGDA Awards 2006 for best book design. He was also a finalist in the 2007 Australian Poster Annual.

Beck Harris is an artist, performer and illustrator. As a freelancer she works across painting, photography, film, illustration, design and live performance. She is a founding member of the interdisciplinary artist group Ništa Nije Ništa whose members live in Germany, Austria and Australia, and have toured annually in Europe since 2002.

The plate and planet tableware captures simple statements and illustrations that are based on ideas around the Slow Food movement. Find a farmer’s market near you. You are what you eat. Learn to live simply to allow others to simply live. Fundamental to us, as designers and consumers, is to be informed about how our food is produced and recognise the strong connections between plate and planet.
