Gordon trained in the now seemingly dying trade of sheet-metal working. He dedicated 20 years to refining his art, making boats and pharmaceutical equipment while developing a love for furniture design. His designs led to entries in the early days of the Fringe Furniture exhibition and eventually to the establishment of a studio/workshop in Melbourne’s inner suburb of Fitzroy.
From its beginnings in artisan-based, limited-run custom production, Tait has steadily evolved over the past fifteen years into a burgeoning manufacture and retail enterprise with a national and international distribution chain for a steadily expanding range of outdoor and indoor furniture products.
